From the moment I started reading The Star Crystal, I couldn't stop. In fact the only thing that did was my eyes drooping as I began falling asleep at 4:00 am. The Star Crystal universe is unlike any other and the characters are realistic yet completely unique and have superb interaction and top notch dialog. The action scenes are truly a treat and are the kind that have you at the edge of your seat hunched over the pages as you shout in support of the character. The ending is like none other and one you have to read to fully understand. With elements of fantasy mixed in a science fiction world set in a world in need of heroes, D.C. Daines creates a story unlike any other I have read and leaves me wanting more of his work and salivating a the thought of more writings from him. As an author and science fiction fan I give The Star Crystal 5 stars and two thumbs up, well four depending on species. This is a must read for those who enjoy reading work from new and promising authors who provide quality work rather than useless dribble. I won't force anyone to buy this book, but I think any fan of Science Fiction is missing out on reading it~Benjamin J. Snider.Product details

" This has to be the best book I have read in some time. This is a short first look at what promises to be a great series. This is a Sci-Fi story about a dying race of Stray- Feline Humanoids, that seem to be unknowingly dependant on a tainted-blood (half-breed) to save them, and to keep their race alive. This book has it all, it gives glimpses of love, friendship, hatred, greed, humor, and of course a dialogue of Sci-Fi story and action.
Scrycher is the main Character, as a child he learns his destiny and will at all costs try and fulfill it. He has companions Teller, who is gifted in telling past events, he is much like a fortune teller, except instead of telling your future he can recall any/all events from your past. The next companion is Chelsea, she is very dedicated to Scrycher and will do anything to help him live out his destiny. Blink is his next companion, this little Dragon is amazingly funny and quite gifted. He has a knack for trouble, loves shinies, and is small enough to fit in ones pocket. I have to mention that his name comes from his gift, he can Blink (teleport) from one spot to another.(less) " — Michael Davis
ARC for Review - Wow! I am majorly impressed by the writing style of this author.. I sense the passion he put into this amazing read... with a crisp, clean, and easy to follow style DC Daines delivers a very adventerous read. Imagine being up against a Foe much larger in size, with a few friends and a not so perfect mode of transportaion... and the fact that you are a half breed will gain even less help..
